TRI Pinnacle, dubbed Penang’s first privately initiated affordable condominium, is recognised by the Penang state government under the affordable housing scheme targeted at eligible buyers seeking to own their first property. Occupying an elevated 9.97 acre plot in Tanjung Tokong, the soaring 45-storey freehold property is expected to be completed in December 2018. Despite the relatively high ratio of inhabitants per unit area and the condominium’s low-medium per unit cost of RM299,990, Tri Pinnacle offers a secure and comfortable environment. The no-frills facilities at TRI Pinnacle are geared towards families, with a wading pool and playground for the children, a gymnasium for the adults, as well as a sizable swimming pool, viewing area, pool deck and reading corner for residents of all ages. A spacious outdoor multipurpose area provides room for young kids to run or cycle around, informal social gatherings or even morning exercise sessions. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, TRI Pinnacle’s 800 sf units are just the right size for young or small families. The moderate size of the units eases maintenance, while the open plan space makes it easy for parents to keep a lookout for their children even when they are in different parts of the house. Sliding doors lead from the living room to the balcony, allowing sunlight to stream into the house and creating the illusion of a larger space. Block A of TRI Pinnacle consists of 390 units of low medium cost homes, sized at 650 sf each and priced at a very reasonable price of RM72,500. While Block B and C house 859 units of 800 sf affordable homes, coming with a price tag of RM299,000. With such easy entry price range, it is believed that it will benefit first time homebuyers and young working couples. Residents are also given the option to select upgrading packages whereby they can enjoy enhanced interior finishes like laminated timber doors and porcelain floor tiles in certain spaces of the home, or fit out their units with IKEA furnishings, lessening the hassle of sourcing for interior décor from various places. Location-wise, TRI Pinnacle definitely has a lot going for it. While the immediate vicinity of the condominium is quiet, Tanjung Tokong is a short drive away from residential and commercial areas like Pulau Tikus and Gurney Drive, where residents can find scores of eateries, morning and night markets, banks, supermarkets and shopping malls. The suburb is also near to schools and educational institutions such as the Penang Chinese Girls’ High School and Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, in addition to hospitals like the Gleneagles Medical Centre, Tanjung Medical Centre and Penang Adventist Hospital.
