Taman Cahaya is a housing neighbourhood that is located in the town of Ampang. It is a leasehold housing estate that is home to several residential developments, including landed properties and high rises. Also known as Taman Cahaya Indah, this neighbourhood sits on leasehold land.
Taman Cahaya is neighboured by several other residential developments, including Taman Cempaka, Taman Kosas, Taman Ampang Mewah, Taman Pandan Mewah, Taman Dagang, Taman Nirwana and Taman Wawasan. All the surrounding neighbourhoods also comprise mainly of residential developments, hence promising a peaceful environment to the residents.
Taman Cahaya is home to low-cost flats, mid-range condominiums as well as comfortably spacious landed homes. Among the more popular developments within Taman Cahaya is the Taman Cahaya Flat and Taman Cahaya Apartment.
The Taman Cahaya Flat is a low cost apartment which is sized at about 480 sq ft and comes with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The apartment boasts being a next-door neighbour to the Cahaya LRT Station and has several facilities within its grounds including the 99 Speedmart mini-mart, several eateries and a salon. There is also a playground for the toddlers, as well as a covered parking spot in the common area. Prices of this development start from about RM135,000, and is touted to be a great investment.
The Taman Cahaya Apartment on the other hand is a higher end development from its lost cost counterpart. The twin towers of 16 storeys come with larger built-ups of between 600 sq ft and 900 sq ft, where the residents can choose between units of either 2 bedrooms or 3 bedrooms. The development features a playground and parking lot, and also boasts 24-hour security. The selling prices of this development is slightly higher, starting from about RM235,000.
Residents of Taman Cahaya enjoy a convenient lifestyle within the matured neighbourhood. Schools are plentiful in the vicinity, including Sekolah Rendah Nirwana, Sekolah Kebangsaan Ampang, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Ampang, SJK (C) On Pong and SJK (C) Kampung Baru Ampang. Institutions of higher education in the area includes the PTPL College Shah Alam and Kolej Islam As-Sofa.
Amenities such as eateries and supermarkets are plentiful in the area. Within 3 kilometres of the neighbourhood is Ampang Point, and only 8 kilometres away is the Kuala Lumpur city centre. Also, besides the neighbourhood Cahaya LRT Station, within proximity is also the Cempaka LRT Station for those who live closer to that stop. Promising further convenience of access to the neighbourhood is the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) that is only a short distance away.
