Straits Quay at Seri Tanjung Pinang, Penang, is a tasteful colonial-inspired waterfront mall with a good collection of retail outlets and exclusive serviced suites bordering the Straits of Malacca. The highlight of the development is the marina where visitors can catch a glimpse of the various yachts and sail boats docked there and enjoy panoramic views of the city and the sea.
In total, there are 100 retail units with about 270,000 sf of combined net lettable space, as well as 160 units of serviced suites. The serviced suites are located just above the 3-storey retail podium, with units sized between a snug 853 sf to a comfortable 1,800 sf. The residences were launched at prices of about RM600 psf.
Residents of the serviced suites at Straits Quay enjoy access to a swimming pool and tennis court with 24-hour security and monitored access to the suites.
Part of E&O’s grand scheme in the development of the Seri Tanjung Pinang township, the serviced residences and retail units at Straits Quay have seen significant appreciation in value with units on the market beginning at prices of about RM750,000 while rental is also on the high end at a monthly RM2,050.
Amenities within Straits Quay itself include various food and beverage outlets, grocery stores, convenience stores, boutiques, spas, hairdressers and cafes. The Tesco Seri Tanjung Pinang is also just nearby while many other commercial hubs, and even Gurney Drive are just a short drive away. Schools in the area include the Pelita International School, SK Tanjung Tokong, SJK (C) Hun Bin, and the Penang Chinese Girls’ High School.
Located just off Jalan Tanjung Tokong, Straits Quay is just about 15 minutes’ drive to the Georgetown city centre and is highly accessible to and from other parts of the city and the island given the extensive network of roads and lanes around. Major roads and highways nearby include Jalan Kelawai, Jalan Burma, Pengkalan Weld, and the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
