Bandar Baru Sungai Buaya was a relatively new township located on the edge of Rawang, developed by a small firm who ended up liquidating their company in 2009. As a result, the township became an abandoned project despite construction beginning in 1996. Although the first phase of the project was sold out within days of launching, many buyers of the homes within the township were doomed when the project did not take off as expected. The FELDA settlers whose rubber estate land was demolished to make way for this development also lost the land and their homes after the project went downhill.
