Ampang Centre Point is a commercial development in Ipoh’s Taman Ampang Jaya neighbourhood, a matured neighbourhood bordered by two main roads, Jalan Raja Musa Mahadi and Jalan Tambun Baru. The latter intersects Jalan Tambun in Tambun, which in turn leads to Sunway City Ipoh.
Within the 15-acre development of Ampang Centre Point are 63 units of 2-storey shops with a built-up of 2,520 sf, 16 units of 3-storey shops with a built-up of 3,820 sf, and an Econsave hypermarket with 300 parking bays. The 2-storey units were launched at about RM668,000 onwards, while the prices of the 3-storey units started at RM853,000.
From the North-South Expressway (NSE) running through Peninsular Malaysia, it takes about 5 minutes or less to get to Ampang Centre Point, encouraging the flow of motorists to the development, such as travelers who are looking for a stopover place to rest and stretch their legs on the way to, or from, their destination.
Econsave Ampang Baru Ipoh officially opened to the public in October 2016, giving residents in the surrounding neighbourhoods like Taman Cempaka, Taman Ampang Indah Jaya, Taman Sri Ampang, Taman Pelangi, Taman Ampang, Taman Ampang Timur and Taman Ampang Baru access to a fresh variety of groceries, fashion apparel and household items.
Ampang Centre Point’s hypermarket and shops will also potentially attract customers from the schools around the area, for example SK Raja Chulan, SJK (C) Min Sin, Politeknik Ungku Omar, SK Wira Jaya and SMK Wira Jaya, as well as local government buildings like Institut Tadbiran Islam Perak, Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia and Kompleks Bersepadu Kementerian Komunikasi dan Multimedia.
