Desa University is a towering apartment complex situated along Jalan Sungai Dua, Penang, which was completed in 1998. It comprises of 145 residential units housed in two 11-storey buildings. 142 of them are standard units at 1,000 sf. Each unit comes with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as a balcony. There are also 3 penthouse units which are 2,120 sf in size.
Facilities offered at Desa University are pretty basic, such as a covered parking lot, barbecue area, swimming pool, wading pool, gymnasium playground, landscaped garden and also 24-hour security. Residents can also enjoy panoramic views of University Sains Malaysia (USM) and the surrounding greenery. The ocean can also be seen from several selected units.
Another selling point of this residence is its location. Desa University is located within walking distance of USM. Thus it is an ideal dwelling for staff and students of the university. Besides that, residents of the apartment also have great access to amenities nearby. The Sungai Dua neighbourhood is already established and hosts several other residential complexes.
Among the amenities available in its vicinity are hawker centres, fast food outlets, convenience stores and a wet market. Additionally, there is a hypermarket just 1 km away, plus several shopping malls, such as Sunshine Tower and Queensbay Mall.
In addition to that, there are several schools that are located a few kilometres away from Desa University, such as SK Bukit Gambir, SK Minden Height, SMK Datuk Hj. Mohamed Nor Ahmad and SMK Hamid Khan.
When it comes to accessibility, Desa University’s residents will never find it an issue. The first Penang bridge is a 5 minutes’ drive from the apartment. Furthermore, travelling to Georgetown and Bayan Lepas is also convenient due to the Jelutong Expressway located nearby the residence. Public transport can also be found without a hassle and is available within reach of the property, such as the Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal and the Penang ferry terminal in Weld Quay.
