Dang Wangi is an area situated in the Kuala Lumpur city centre north from the Dataran Merdeka, next to Bukit Nanas, and between the rivers of Gombak and Klang. Dang Wangi is named after a road that cuts across the district called Jalan Dang Wangi (Dang Wangi Road), which was formerly known as Campbell Road.
The Dang Wangi LRT station, along the Kelana Jaya line, is on the northeast side of the district. Alternatively, residents can use the KL Monorail train and stop at the Bukit Nanas station, whereby the Dang Wangi LRT station would be located approximately 300 metres walking distance from the Bukit Nanas Monorail station.
In May 2013, there was a landslide near the Dang Wangi station. No casualties were reported but nine cars were damaged. In 2012, there were rumours of extension plans to the Kelana Jaya LRT line, and according to national transport company Prasarana chief Zulkifli Mohd Yusoff, the Dang Wangi station is also to be transformed to the first rail-plus-property in Malaysia. However, up until now, there has been no news.
